Week #24 – White Flowers
June 14, 2012 12:48 pmI wanted to try a cake that I just covered in white flower pedals. The effect was quite lovely.
I made about 3 of these pedals using the rose pedal cutter and let them dry overnight in egg crates so they would have a nice natural curve to them.
I covered the cake with buttercream. In order to get the buttercream super smooth I covered it with 1 layer, put it back in the fridge, covered it with a second layer, put it back in the fridge, covered it with a third…
It’s damn near impossible to get the buttercream completely smooth but this was an exercise in patience.
I think this would be great as the top of a wedding cake right?
The cake is chocolate cake with a vanilla buttercream inside.
No one really got to eat this cake. Isn’t it a shame when something so pretty goes to waste?
